What We Do
Share Your Story provides step by step process that will give you an entry point into the publishing industry to limit the amount of effort between you and success. Our half day workshops, online seminars and specialist masterclass sessions are designed to be practical and hands on, giving you the knowledge you need to write, submit, publish and promote your books.
Founded in 2016 by Director, Michelle Worthington, Share Your Story was created when it took ten years to get her first picture book published. Her private mentor clients have gone on to receive traditional publishing contracts, start their own independent publishing companies, create their own educational programs and followed their passion to start making a living doing what they love.
Our workshops are led by children’s publishing professionals: editors, writers, agents, illustrators, art directors, publishers, academics and others committed to helping you realizing your creative goals. You become part of the Share Your Story tribe and receive support from not only our industry professionals, but a community of like-minded people on their own journey towards success.

I just wanted to thank you so much for your editing, your input, your workshops and all that you’ve done to get me to this point. It’s just been amazing and I’m really excited about the upcoming process. I realise it is expensive to have it published in this way, but for me, it’s validation that creativity is ever present in all of us at any age! At the very least I will love having something tangible to give to my grandchildren.R Brown
Thank you so much for another brilliant and highly relevant session yesterday. The past two Saturday’s have been so incredibly valuable to where I’m currently at in my creative writing and publishing journey.
Thank you for doing what you do.D Patterson
I just wanted to send a BIG THANK YOU for holding what I thought was hands down the best kids picture book workshop I have ever been to! I have been to MANY of these types of workshops over the past 5 years and the way that you ran the program yesterday with your positive energy and the calibre and experience of the speakers was just brilliant. The venue, keeping to the schedule, food and vibes at the workshop all made for such a positive and fun learning environment, which is so unique these days! I particularly liked and responded to your writing experiences and advice and Aleesah’s publishing journey as you both have such inspiring stories to share.
I left the workshop yesterday knowing that although it is going to be a long and difficult journey I just have to ‘put myself out there’ and feel the fear and do it anyway, as the journey will be worth it! I’ve got the passion and determination and now I have a ‘tribe’ to lean on and help me in my journey. What a gift! I’m certain all of the participants yesterday left thinking ‘I can do this’ and that is such an amazing feeling to have considering the obstacles and challenges kids picture book writing and publishing entail.
Thank you for making me feel like I can achieve my dreams of becoming a kids picture book author/illustrator!Dr S Pillans
